The whole journey

Six steps. The last one is yours.

Steps one and two happen once, in about five minutes. Steps three to six repeat for every job — a couple of clicks and a careful look.

Step 01 / 06 Once

Upload your resume once

Start with the resume you already have. Applyd turns it into an editable profile — the single source of truth for every resume, cover letter and form answer it produces.

A resume PDF uploads and becomes an editable profile, with the Common answers — work authorization, sponsorship, notice period, start date and salary — highlighted for review.

What you do

  • Upload a PDF or Word file (up to 5 MB). No resume handy? On LinkedIn, open your profile → More → Save to PDF.
  • Review the profile — especially Common answers: work authorization, sponsorship, notice period, salary.
  • Save. Anything you add later makes every application better.

What Applyd does

  • Identifies the file by its contents, not its name, and extracts the text on our servers.
  • Builds your profile: contact details, work history, education, skills, projects and certifications.
  • Keeps your Common answers when you re-import a newer resume.
Step 02 / 06 Once

Add the extension. Connect in two clicks.

Install Applyd in Chrome — or Edge, Brave or Arc — on your laptop or desktop, pin it, and link it to your account in two clicks.

Applyd pinned in the browser toolbar, the side panel's Connect account button, and the confirmation tab reading “Connected! You can close this tab and go back to the job posting.”

What you do

  • Add Applyd from the Chrome Web Store and pin it from the puzzle-piece menu.
  • Click “Connect account” in the side panel, then “Connect extension” on the tab that opens.
  • Allow site access only where you want it — per site, through Chrome's own prompt.

What Applyd does

  • Gives the extension its own secure session, separate from your browser tab.
  • Asks for no site access at install. It reads a page only when you ask it to.
  • Stays connected until you click “Disconnect” in the side panel.
Step 03 / 06 Auto or 1 click

Open any job. See where you stand.

Open a posting and the side panel reads it — title, company, location and the full description — then scores how well you fit, from 0 to 100.

Reads postings on

  • LinkedIn
  • Indeed
  • Greenhouse
  • Lever
  • Ashby
  • Workday
  • Career pages
What works on each site

A job posting with its keywords highlighted next to the Applyd side panel: an 87 match score, GraphQL and Storybook listed as missing keywords, matched keywords, three quick wins, and the right-click “Use as job description” option.

What you do

  • Open a job on LinkedIn, Indeed, Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday or a company careers page.
  • Click Analyze — or let it run on its own when the posting is clearly detected.
  • Not detected? Highlight the description, right-click and choose “Use as job description”.

What Applyd does

  • Reads the posting with a reader built for that site, or the page's structured job data on careers pages.
  • Shows your match score, the keywords you match, the ones you're missing, and quick wins.
  • Warns you if you've already applied to this job — or to this company in the last 30 days.
Step 04 / 06 < 1 minute

Tailored to the job. True to you.

One click rewrites your resume for this job — reordered, rephrased and emphasised to fit, using only what's already in your profile. A cover letter in the tone you pick takes one more.

A tailored resume with one rewritten bullet highlighted, a fact-check card confirming the employer, dates and metric while removing an invented claim, keyword coverage rising from 58% to 86%, template choices and cover letter tones.

What you do

  • Click Tailor Resume, then Cover Letter if the job asks for one.
  • Pick one of four ATS-friendly templates and a tone: professional, enthusiastic or concise.
  • Edit anything you like. Editing and re-downloading never use a credit.

What Applyd does

  • Mirrors the posting's wording only where it truthfully describes what you did.
  • Checks every tailored resume against your profile — anything that fails is removed and your original bullet restored.
  • Shows keyword coverage before and after, and exports a clean single-column PDF, or Word.
Step 05 / 06 1 click + review

Autofill, then review the highlights

Click Autofill and Applyd fills the form from your profile, adds your work history, attaches your tailored resume and drafts answers to custom questions. Everything it touched is outlined on the page.

  • Workday's multi-step wizard — each new step, as you reach it
  • Repeated work history and education blocks, added to match your profile
  • Forms in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Dutch

An application form with filled fields outlined green and three fields outlined yellow for review — desired salary, a voluntary gender question answered “Prefer not to say”, and a drafted answer — next to the side panel's review list and an Insert button.

  • Green outlineFilled from your profile.
  • Yellow outlineNeeds your review — a drafted answer, a sensitive question, or a value Applyd wasn't sure about.
  • No outlineApplyd didn't touch it — already filled, unknown, or skipped.

What you do

  • Click Autofill on the application form.
  • Check the yellow fields: drafted answers, sensitive questions and anything Applyd wasn't sure about.
  • Edit drafted answers in the side panel, then click Insert to put them in the form.

What Applyd does

  • Fills contact details, links, work authorization and common questions — and adds work-history and education blocks to match your profile.
  • Attaches your tailored resume, as a Word file when the form doesn't accept PDFs.
  • Leaves anything you already typed alone, unless you tick “Overwrite fields I already filled”.
Step 06 / 06 Your click

You click submit. It's already tracked.

Applyd stops short of the submit button — always. Give the form a last look, submit it on the employer's site, and the application is already in your tracker.

The Submit application button with a cursor labelled “Your click”, and the tracker below with the new Northwind application at the top of the Applied column, tagged with its resume and cover letter.

What you do

  • Click the employer's own submit button when you're happy with every field.
  • Move the card as you hear back: Interviewing, Offer or Rejected.
  • Add notes, contacts and interview dates as they come in.

What Applyd does

  • Logs the application as Applied when you autofill — with the resume and cover letter it used.
  • Never clicks submit, Next or Save and Continue: its clicks refuse submit buttons entirely.
  • Turns your tracker into search insights, like response rates by source and template.
You stay in control

Applyd does the busywork. You make every call.

At every step there's a line Applyd doesn't cross. These aren't settings you have to find — they're how it's built.

In the side panel, every time

“Applyd never submits for you — review the form, then click submit yourself.”
Submit applicationOff limits to Applyd's clicks.
  • Never clicks submit

Every click Applyd makes refuses submit buttons and cancels any form submission while it runs.

  • Never moves you to the next step

On Workday you click “Save and Continue”. Applyd notices the new step and autofills it for you.

  • Never overwrites what you typed

Fields you've already filled are kept, unless you tick “Overwrite fields I already filled”.

  • Never inserts long answers on its own

Drafted answers to custom questions wait in the side panel until you edit them and click Insert.

  • Never invents experience

Employers, titles, dates, degrees and numbers come from your profile. Anything else is removed before you see it.

  • Never guesses sensitive answers

Self-identification questions default to “Prefer not to say”. They — and desired salary — are always flagged for your review.

Your data

What happens to your data at each step

Your documents are private to your account. We never sell your data, and our AI provider doesn't train on it. Here's the detail, step by step.

  1. 1Upload

    What's read
Your resume file — PDF or DOCX, up to 5 MB.
    Where it goes
A private storage bucket under your user ID. The text is extracted on our servers and sent to Anthropic's API over TLS to build your profile.
    Never
The file is never executed. It's identified by its contents, size-limited and parsed with a timeout.
  2. 2Connect

    What's read
    Nothing on your pages.
    Where it goes
The Applyd website hands your session to the extension — no other site can message it. The token stays in Chrome's local storage.
    Never
AI and payment keys never reach your browser or the extension. No site access is granted at install.
  3. 3Open a job

    What's read
The posting on the tab you're using, when you open the side panel there and ask.
    Where it goes
The job text goes to our API, which asks Anthropic's API to score your match.
    Never
Your browsing history, other tabs, and sites you haven't enabled.
  4. 4Tailor

    What's read
Your profile and the job description.
    Where it goes
Anthropic's API over TLS. Finished documents are stored privately in your account and downloaded through short-lived signed links.
    Never
Training on your data — Anthropic's API doesn't use your inputs or outputs to train models. We never sell your data.
  5. 5Autofill

    What's read
The form's field labels and options.
    Where it goes
Values are filled in your browser. Our API is only asked about the fields the extension can't match itself.
    Never
Field values in our analytics. Self-ID answers are stored only with your explicit consent.
  6. 6Submit & track

    What's read
Nothing — the application goes from your browser to the employer.
    Where it goes
The tracker entry lives in your account until you delete it.
    Never
Lock-in: export everything as JSON, or delete your account and files, from Settings at any time.
FAQ

Questions about the workflow

Setup, what happens on each page, and where you stay in charge.

How long does setup take?

About five minutes, once: upload your resume, review your profile (especially Common answers), install the Chrome extension on your computer and click “Connect account”. After that, each application is a few clicks and a review.

Does Applyd ever click submit for me?

No. Every click Applyd makes goes through a guard that refuses submit buttons and cancels any form submission while it runs. On Workday it doesn't press “Save and Continue” either — you move to the next step, and Applyd autofills that step once it detects it.

What if Applyd doesn't detect the job posting?

Highlight the job description on the page, right-click and choose “Use as job description”. Applyd scores your match and tailors your documents from that text, exactly as it would from a detected posting.

Can I change the tailored resume before I send it?

Yes. Open it from Documents to edit the text, switch template, paper size or spacing, and re-download. Editing never uses a credit.

What happens to fields I've already filled in?

They're left alone. Applyd only fills empty fields unless you tick “Overwrite fields I already filled” in the side panel. Long answers to custom questions are never inserted automatically — you edit them and click Insert.

Which steps use my monthly allowance?

Only tailoring. A resume and cover letter for the same job in the same month count as one tailored application. Match scores, autofill, the answer bank, the tracker and editing documents don't use your allowance.
