Why the extension asks for permissions

Exactly what each Chrome permission is used for.

Applyd asks for as little as possible. It reads a page only when you open the side panel there and ask it to.

  • Side panel: shows Applyd next to the job posting.
  • Active tab + scripting: lets Applyd read the job description and fill the form on the tab you're using, when you click a button.
  • Storage: keeps you signed in and remembers your settings on this device.
  • Context menu: adds “Use as job description” to the right-click menu.
  • Site access (optional, per site): granted by you through Chrome's prompt so Applyd keeps working across multi-step forms and embedded application frames. You can revoke it any time in Chrome's extension settings.

Applyd never reads your browsing history, never runs on sites you haven't enabled, and never submits anything.
